#OTD On This Day, August 16, 2011, starting pitcher Sean Gilmartin (2) of the Rome Braves made his second start of the season, pitching four scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out four in a game against the Greenville Drive at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, South Carolina. Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 1st round (28th) of the 2011 MLB draft from Florida State University, Gilmartin has played for five years with the Mets (including the 2015 World Series) and Orioles. The Tampa Bay Rays picked him up and he is on the Rays' 60-man player pool. He pitched in one game in 2020 and was sent to the teams alternate site.
